it’s “volunteer” work and I haven’t volunteered

The place I worked in South Lake Union is running takeout service still, but they aren’t paying staff. It’s “volunteer” work and I haven’t volunteered.

I’m concerned that spring will give way to summer and then fall and the rain will return with no reprieve in the mountains, and with it my depression.

I was able to get unemployment, so my main concern is the pandemic lasting much longer than the experts are saying and fewer businesses being able to open. I’m concerned that my parents or grandparents will get sick. I’m concerned that there will be another wave this winter and I will have run out of unemployment. I’m concerned that this will make people even less interested in engaging one another. I’m concerned that spring will give way to summer and then fall and the rain will return with no reprieve in the mountains, and with it my depression.
